About Lynn
Hi. I'm Lynn and I'm in a complicated relationship with death.
This relationship started at age 6, when I experienced my first close loss- my father.
I didn't realize this at this time, but that loss formed a connection to death and dying that I was never able to shake. Later in life I would experience several other close losses that so made me realize that I needed to be a presence in this space and The Parting Planner was born. I created The Parting Planner as a way to deal with my own grief. It has not only helped me process my pain, but it has allowed me to help others process theirs. It had taken me into spaces to learn more about death care and end of life planning, and it has taught me to appreciate every moment of this life I've been blessed with.
I am married with 4 adult children and a toddler!
Yes my life is full, but we only get one, so I wouldn't have it any other way!
Some other info you might be interested in: I have lived in San Antonio, Texas my entire life. I am a UTSA graduate (B.A Communication), an ABLDP Alumna (Cohort '22) and I currently serve on the Board of Directors of Abode Contemplative Care for the Dying.
I am currently training to become an End-of-Life Doula (March 2023).

When people say someone had “a good death,” they usually mean that someone was comfortable and not in pain. But what if you could help their final days include the things they treasure -- like their favorite song playing, who is at their bedside, even the scent of a candle in the room -- so they feel at peace.
That’s why some people turn to end-of-life doulas. They are among the professionals who can help someone prepare for their death and reflect on their life: their greatest joys and regrets, any fears or worries on their mind, and how they want to be remembered.
